Claes Sundin

Claes Sundin has nourished a strong interest in everything aeronautics, particularly when it comes to fighter aircraft of World War II and later. His interest stems from the time when he was just a boy of only seven and started building and collecting plastic scale models of these aircraft. Simultaneously, he has been an ardent draftsman, making sketches of aircraft for as long as he can remember.

In 1994 Claes Sundin started out by making his first aircraft profiles, just for fun. After he had finishing his first one hundred profiles, the idea gradually matured that he should try to publish them.

Claes is currently working on several book projects, lecturing and writing articles. Up until now, he had produced over two thousands “profiles”, mostly of aircrafts but also of other WWII vehicles.

Little Friends

Little Friends is one of the most comprehensive sites out there when it comes to information concerning pictures and records relating to the US Fighter Groups from World War II.  Peter Randall is constantly collecting images and documents and, with help from the internet, he is able piece together places, people, aircraft, and timelines.  It is truly amazing how aviation fanatics and historians have contributed to provide an immense collection of data connected to the “Little Friends” of the greatest world war.

The illustrations that Peter allowed me to use are from the artist Nick King.
