A Republic P-47C-2-RE Thunderbolt (serial number 41-6204) identified as “04” of the 334th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group. This aircraft was assigned to Captain Richard D McMinn of Salt Lake City, Utah. This P-47 originally carried the “last two” of the serial number for identification as “04” and was later to become QP-M. At some stage, the rear fuselage was repainted and was lost with Captain McMinn on April 15th, 1943. McMinn was hit by a FW-190 and crashed into the North Sea 20 miles East of Felixtowe.
